Fishing
The Snowy Mountains Region is the major trout fishing centre in Australia and the obvious choice to host the World Fly Fishing Championships in 1999. Tanderra Lodge Motel is only 5 minutes from Australia's largest man made lake, Lake Eucumbene. The lake is well stocked with brown and rainbow trout.
There are 16 major dams stocked with trout and together with numerous mountain rivers and streams the choice of "where to fish" can be a delightful dilemma.
Tanderra Lodge Motel has many fishing options within close proximity:

We can also arrange a guide and fly-fishing lessons. Rates are very reasonable and will ensure that you give yourself the best chance to catch a trout. A boat charter can also be arranged for up to 6 people in a modern Quintrix 6.1 metre outboard boat. Prices are from $70 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours.

Horse Riding
Discover the Snowy Mountains and surrounding areas on horseback. Stay in the comfort of Tanderra Lodge Motel and go on a day trek through valleys and hills. Why not take riding lessons at the same time. We can tailor a package that includes accommodation, lessons and trail rides. We work closely with "Yarramba" Trail rides. Mark, and his staff offer rides from one hour to full day duration. With over 30 years experience, Mark will ensure you get the most out of your stay.
If you are looking for a longer ride, we can organise a number of treks ranging from 2 to 8 days in duration. You can stay at Tanderra Lodge Motel pre and post the trek.

There are many trails to suit all standards within easy reach of Tanderra Lodge Motel. The best known are the trails around Thredbo, Charlotte Pass and Mt. Kosciuszko. There are many more much closer to the Motel including the Yarrangobilly Caves area, Kiandra, Cabramurra, Talbingo etc.
