Adaminaby is in the heart of the Monaro – on the Snowy Mountains Highway between Cooma and Tumut.
Adaminaby has a fascinating history – being a re-creation of the original town that was flooded when Lake Eucumbene was formed as part of the Snowy Hydro system. Many of the houses were moved from Old Adaminaby. We can arrange for you to visit the Museum, which tells the story in word and picture.
You can visit the snowfields, Snowy Hydro, Yarrangobilly Caves, Gundagai in a 3-day trip that will excite and stimulate the participants.

The Snowy is also a fascinating place to visit in the Spring and can be combined with a trip to Canberra for something different. The spring thaw brings out the wildflowers in full bloom and the trout fishing is excellent.
The Accommodation
The motel is divided into two wings which can each sleep around 30 people in a variety of rooms – double bed, 4 bunks, 2 bunks and some with trundle beds. This allows the boys and girls to be split up if required by some schools. All rooms have en-suites, heaters and electric blankets.
Group Rates - for 10 or more people $30 per person per night.
Price includes linen and towels.
The bus driver is allowed accommodation and meals free of charge provided there are more than 10 paying guests.
Teachers/supervisors are allowed free accommodation and meals on a ratio of one teacher/supervisor to 20 paying guests.
Disabled access
The lounge, dining room and one wing are all on one level with 2 steps at the entry. Unfortunately our en-suites do not allow wheel chair access (there is not enough room).

Special dietary needs can be catered for.
However it does make things much easier if we are advised beforehand about any requirements.
We urge parents/teachers/supervisors to impress on the children the need for breakfast when temperatures will be either minus C or in the very low plus numbers.
As a matter of policy, Tanderra Lodge Motel does not use peanut oil in our cooking and endeavours to ensure all meals are based on sound nutritional principles while appealing to our clientele.
